Regulated
Cargo Transport
AirNet focuses on transporting highly
specialized cargo for a variety of industries. We excel in meeting your
needs, no matter what you're shipping. Regulated Cargo Transport is just
one area where AirNet's expertise can create transportation solutions for
you.
Hazardous Materials/Dangerous
Goods
The AirNet transportation network is specifically built to meet the
stringent standards for the transport of hazardous materials - commodities
designated as dangerous or hazardous goods by the United States
government, including radioactive materials, infectious substances,
diagnostic specimens and dry ice. We are qualified to transport classes
6.2, 7 and 9 of dangerous goods. (Carriage of Class 7, radioactive
materials is focused primarily upon non-fissile, radioactive
pharmaceuticals, for human injection/ingestion.) The Regulated Cargo
Division, through an initial screening process, approves all hazardous
materials/dangerous goods (HM/DG) shippers. Once approved, you can benefit
from AirNet's proprietary airline system and begin shipping.
D.O.T. Radiopharmaceuticals Exemption
AirNet is one of only two national
carriers to hold party status to DOT-E Exemption 7060, exempting the
carrier from certain provisions of the 49 CFR requirements for
the air transportation of radioactive materials. This exemption
allows us to carry a greater ratio of radiopharmaceuticals per plane than
most other carriers, and meet the critical shipping needs of the
radiopharm industry.

Shipping HM/DG
AirNet accepts dangerous goods for air
transport provided that the shipper presents the packages in complete
compliance with the IATA/ICAO and 49 CFR regulations as applicable. Prior
to acceptance of any dangerous goods shipment, our Regulated Cargo
Division (RCD) must be provided the opportunity to inspect and approve:
- The training records of the shipper's
employees involved in the preparation of the dangerous goods cargo for
transport by air
- The specific packaging intended for use
in the air transport of each particular dangerous good
- The intended quantities of the material
to be shipped
- The documentation preparation method of
the shipper
- Validity of the emergency response
information provided by the shipper
Once approved, AirNet will transport only
those packages that have been inspected and approved to be in complete
governmental compliance. For information on AirNet Regulated Cargo
Transport, call 1-888-888-TIME (1-888-888-8463).
