Hazardous material is defined in the 49 CFR as “a
substance or material, which has been determined by the Secretary of
Transportation to be capable of posing an unreasonable risk to
health, safety, and property when transported in commerce, and which
has been so designated.” The
terms hazardous materials and dangerous goods are synonymous and may
be used interchangeably.
AirNet Express will accept dangerous
goods for air carriage provided that shipper presents the packages
in complete compliance with the IATA/ICAO and 49 CFR regulations as
applicable. AirNet is qualified to transport classes 6.2, 7 and 9 of
dangerous goods. Carriage of Class 7, radioactive materials is
focused primarily upon non-fissile, radioactive pharmaceuticals, for
human injection/ingestion. AirNet holds party status to DOT
Exemption 7060, exempting the carrier from certain provisions of the
49 CFR requirements for the air transportation of radioactive
materials. AirNet reserves the right to refuse to transport of any

packaging, marking, labeling, quantity or documentation of any
package of dangerous goods.
- When/if a Federal Government
agency, such as the FAA, restricts shipment of such goods due to
Federal Emergencies or other unanticipated events.
Prior to acceptance of any dangerous
goods shipment, the AirNet Express Regulated Cargo Division (RCD),
